We believe that closely monitoring health and safety leads not only to safer engineering practices, but also a higher quality of work on site. Our approach to health and safety is simple, but effective, in working towards our aim of reducing utility strikes and incidents, whilst maintaining an efficient rate of work for our clients.

Our 5 simple steps to health & safety

Induction

CCN ensures to personally induct all staff, whether they are working on-site, in the office, or a bit of both. We want our employees to feel safe and happy at work, as this helps us to provide the best service possible.

Risk Assessment

Point of work risk assessments are completed upon every site move. We celebrate the diversity amongst our teams, so we provide risk assessment templates in dual-languages to ensure absolute clarity for all engineers and supervisors.

Audits

Audits are ingrained into CCN's culture and on-site processes. Our systems allow safety and quality checks to be carried out frequently and conveniently on-site by managers, supervisors and the engineers every single day.

Review Quality & Performance

Providing a high-quality service in a safe and efficient manner is dependent on habitual performance review. CCN's senior leadership team constantly monitors the performance of their business unit teams: on site, to ensure that safe digging practices are used, and remotely, by checking that safety audits are being carried out.

Education & Feedback

Our experienced SHE Manager utilises the information that we gather from safety audits to create or seek out tailored training sessions, toolbox talks and feedback sessions that can be translated to our teams on-site. This process of review and feedback is continuous to ensure that as our business evolves, our safety and quality values grow with it.
